I have lived full time as Ruth since November 2007

My family know about Ruth and I have been very fortunate to have their understanding and support. Having a trans person in the family is not easy and creates all kinds of stresses and strains within relationships.

I joined the Beaumont Society as it is the only national organisation that I know of that embraces all facets of the transgender community. It seems to me that it is important for the long term development of our community within society that we speak with one voice, rather than lots of little splinter groups.

I love going shopping, meeting friends, eating out and going to live performances (Theatre, music etc). I go to clubs occasionally, but I don't like smoke or loud noise ….
